Provide employees with free personal protective equipment, including helmets, climbing spurs, harnesses, saddles, and climbing lines. Make sure that employees know how to properly use all personal protective equipment and inspect it before each use. Mark an area on the ground at least twice the height of the tree to avoid working in places where pruned or felled trees may fall. Train the field workers who hold the lines to stand at least one and a half times the height of the tree.
